KaToon Privacy Policy
KaToon is a local comic reader for iOS. The app is designed for reading comic files that you choose to import or open on your device. KaToon does not provide comic downloads, does not host comic content, and does not require an account for local reading.
1. Information We Collect
KaToon is built around local reading. In its core reading experience, KaToon does not ask you to create an account and does not require you to provide your name, email address, phone number, or other direct contact information.
The app may access files, images, or documents that you choose to import, open, or manage through iOS system file pickers or other system-provided interfaces. These files are used to provide the reading and library features of the app.
2. Local Comic Files
Comic files, images, PDFs, archives, and other reading materials you import into KaToon are processed for local reading and library management. Unless a feature clearly states otherwise and you choose to use it, KaToon does not actively upload your imported comic files to our servers.
3. How We Use Information
KaToon uses locally accessed files and app data to:
- display your imported comics and image-based reading materials;
- organize your local library, recent reading, liked items, and imports;
- remember reading-related preferences and app settings;
- maintain app functionality, stability, and user experience.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. KaToon does not share your imported comic files with third parties for advertising or content distribution. If you choose to use Apple services, cloud backup, file sharing, or other third-party services from your device, those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
5. Third-Party Services
KaToon may use iOS system capabilities and may in the future integrate third-party services such as crash diagnostics, analytics, ads, or payment services. If such services are added, they may process limited technical information according to their own privacy policies and applicable platform rules. We will update this Privacy Policy when material changes are made.
6. Advertising and Purchases
KaToon may offer free, paid, subscription, in-app purchase, or advertising-supported features in the future. If ads or purchases are introduced, relevant disclosures will be provided in the app or on the App Store as required.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
Local app data remains on your device unless you delete it, remove imported files, uninstall the app, or use system tools that modify or erase app data. You can manage or delete local files using KaToon features where available, iOS file management tools, or by uninstalling the app.
8. Children
KaToon is a general local reading tool and is not directed specifically to children. If you are a minor, you should use the app with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
9. Security
We use reasonable design practices to keep KaToon focused on local reading. However, no app, device, or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your device, Apple ID, backups, and imported files secure.
10. International Users
KaToon may be available in multiple countries or regions. By using the app, you understand that applicable privacy rights and requirements may vary depending on your location.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect product changes, legal requirements, or platform policies. Updated versions will be made available in the app, on the App Store product page, or on this page.
